Cat and Dog Surgery Expectations

Before every cat and dog surgery we perform, we conduct a basic wellness exam to determine if any underlying health issues exist. In some cases we may also require pre-anesthetic blood work to assure your pet is well enough for anesthesia and surgery. Once your pet has been cleared for surgery, we begin the preparation process. This includes placing an IV catheter and administering the anesthesia.

After your pet’s surgery is complete, we reduce the anesthesia supply and move your pet to a recovery area, where we continue to monitor him. We’ll call you to let you know how the surgery went and arrange for pickup. When you arrive, we’ll give you discharge instructions and any necessary pain medications to aid in your pet’s recovery. Please feel free to contact us at any time during your cat or dog’s surgery or recovery by calling 706-327-8329. We’ll be more than happy to help.
